Environment

Olde savannah flooring is committed to leaving a small environmental footprint by putting in place products, processes and programs that will protect and respect our planet’s natural resources.

“GIVE A TREE, TAKE A TREE”

Because of our commitment to sustainability, we created a program titled, “Give a Tree, Take a Tree” in partnership with an arbor conservancy, Trees Atlanta. The program allows us to provide a continual stream of future trees to be responsibly harvested. Each month, Olde Savannah Flooring calculates lumber usage and provides funding to Trees Atlanta for an equivalent number of trees.

We reclaim a substantial amount of lumber from old buildings and barns, eliminating the need to cut down trees. In addition, we installed a state-of-the-art grinding and dust collection system in our Atlanta facility, allowing us to recycle the dust into useful by-products.

FOREST STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL

We carefully choose lumber vendors with a parallel commitment to the environment.

Olde Savannah Flooring has attained the Forest Stewardship Council chain-of-custody certification due to its efforts in environmental sustainability. Our FSC certification provides the link between responsible production and consumption and, thereby, enables the consumer to make socially and environmentally responsible purchasing decisions. We do not use rain forest woods unless they are FSC certified.
